
As you near the end of your studies at NP, you may be considering embarking on further studies. With such a wide spread of information – made even more complex if you are thinking about studying overseas – we’ve put together this page to help you explore your options.

You don’t have to wait until you finish your Year 3 studies before you apply for a local university place. You can apply during the universities’ admission periods and submit your results for the five semesters you have already completed. Once you get your final semester results, you can simply submit these as an addition to your application.

The Indicative Grade Profile (IGP) serves as a guide for you to know the GPA required when applying for admission into NUS, NTU and SMU. This helps you to understand your chances of gaining admission to these local universities. Please bear in mind that the IGP will differ each year as it depends on the quality of applicants for the individual year.
Your results will be considered on a case-by-case basis but, generally, if you graduate with good polytechnic diploma results, you should be eligible for advanced standing and may be granted some exemptions.
As part of strengthening Singapore's position as a global education hub, the Council for Private Education (CPE) was established to regulate the private education sector. The CPE assesses private education institutions for registration and EduTrust certification. If you are planning to apply to a private institution, start by visiting the CPE website, where you can view a list of certified PEIs.
