NP Ambassadors
Established since 1992, the NP Ambassadors is an eXtraordinary student leaders team who are empowered to represent Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) at flagship events and various touch points with key stakeholders such as secondary school students, teachers and parents.
As the “face” of NP, our Ambassadors play a crucial role in connecting with prospective students, guiding them to explore their interests, and discover the vibrant student life and exciting possibilities at NP. Working closely with the Corporate Communications Office, NP Ambassadors lead, organise and manage signature projects such as Poly Xperience, Red Camp and Open House. These platforms provide Ambassadors an enriching learning experience as they develop critical core skills and stellar leadership qualities.
Through the years, from one generation to another, NP Ambassadors has proven to be a close-knit student body sharing a fabulous bond amongst themselves. They exhibit a very passionate spirit in serving as well as a strong culture of excellence. In the course of helping secondary school students discover their pathways, our Ambassadors have also found meaning in what they do and appreciated the impact they are making in the lives of others.

An Edge Over Others
The interpersonal skills that I have gained played a paramount role in helping me pass my university application interviews, receiving offers from NUS Dentistry and Pharmacy.
Effective Communication Skills
Through the many outreach events where I represented NP as an Ambassador, I have learned to articulate better, both on a personal basis and at public-speaking, giving me an edge over others.
Professional Development
NP Ambassadors equipped me with practical skills such as stakeholder management, problem-solving under pressure, and leading diverse teamsㅡskills that are directly transferable to both school and the workplace. The exposure allowed me to stand out and secure internship opportunities, and take on greater responsibilities in university.
Disicpline & Strong Work Ethics
The work ethics I adopted along with my fellow Ambassadors made me more organised, consistent, and proactive in both university and work settings. Being surrounded by such peers helped me develop better discipline and a stronger sense of responsibility.
Dynamic Leadership
I’m thankful for the many opportunities where I honed my public speaking skills as an emcee for many large-scale events for NP. My time guiding Sec Sch students on poly life also sharpened my listening skills, taught me how to distil information effectively, and communicate confidently.
Tight-knit Community
NP Ambassadors felt like a close-knit community of individuals who share a passion for events, outreach, and showcasing what NP has to offer. What I loved most was when everyone supported one another and worked towards a common goal regardless of school, age, or position.
Service with Excellence
NP Ambassadors has taught me the importance of having high standards when it comes to the way we present ourselves and in our service to others. The standards we held by allowed me to apply it to every public speaking, event planning and leadership role that I took up, ensuring to cover every detail and knowing how to adapt quickly under pressure.
Confidence & Growth
NP Ambassadors was a pivotal part of my polytechnic journey. My tenure with NP Ambassadors were incredibly valuable in shaping both my personal and professional growth. It taught me mental resilience, adaptability, effective interpersonal skills and strong problem-solving skills. I believe these attributes set me apart from my peers during my Year 3 internship and proved especially useful during my university application interviews too!
