Direct Admissions Exercise

The Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) is administered by Ngee Ann Polytechnic to allow applicants whose qualification types are ineligible under JAE and JPAE to apply for admission to our full-time diploma courses.

1. Can I apply?

International qualification holders, including Returning Singaporeans, can apply for admission under the DAE.

You must be holding one of the following international academic qualifications and meet the respective Minimum Entry Requirements in the table below.

For Returning Singaporeans only: Returning Singaporeans are required to have completed at least Year 10 of High School with:

  • English: Minimum Grade B
  • Mathematics: Minimum Grade B
  • 1 relevant and 2 best subjects: Minimum Grade B
Entrance Test

Applicants may be shortlisted to sit for the Polytechnic’s entrance test provided they meet the Minimum Entry Requirements of their respective foreign qualification AND the course entry requirements for the full-time courses they are applying for.

Shortlisted candidates will receive an email invitation to sit for the entrance test held in end January 2026 / early February 2026. Please refer to the Entrance Test information (134KB) and the Entrance Test subject syllabus (168KB).

Only applicants holding the following 5 qualifications are not required to sit for the entrance test:

  • IGCSE
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Year 12
  • Malaysia SPM
  • Malaysia UEC
  • Brunei Cambridge GCE O-Level

2. How do I Apply?

  • Check the application periods for the different qualifications below before applying. Please check and be aware of the courses with medical requirements (143KB) before selecting your course choices in the application. You will not be allow to continue with the course in the event that you are offered, if you do not meet the respective course medical requirements.
  • Apply via the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) Portal.
  • Your supporting documents should be uploaded to the DAE portal during the online application. Please include a notarized English translation should your qualification be printed in a language other than English.
  • You can include up to 3 choices in NP for which you are eligible.
  • You will only receive 1 offer if successful.

3. What happens next?

  • The outcome of your application will be released online through the DAE Portal.
  • If your application is successful, you will receive an enrolment package with instructions on how to accept your offer online.
  • The period between receiving your package and your course registration appointment can be as short as 1 or 2 days. It is very important that you accept the offer during the appointment.
  • You can accept your offer online via eEnrol portal. Other information including payment of fees, application for financial assistance schemes and orientation period can also found in both the package and the portal.
