Staying Ahead of the Curve

To enable our young learners to graduate as future-ready professionals valued by employers and the community, NP put in place a strategy to develop AI competencies in our students across their three-year journey. From 2026, all students will engage with Generative AI (Gen AI) in at least one module every year, acquiring transferable AI skills contextualised within their course curriculum. Guided by the structured PAIR (Problem, AI, Interaction and Reflection) framework, this pedagogical approach grows students’ fluency in AI as they engage with it critically, thoughtfully, and responsibly.

We are also leveraging AI to create more personalised learning experiences. NP worked with technology services firm NCS to develop and pilot a curriculum-grounded AI Tutor for our adult learners taking engineering and infocomm technology programmes. Available round the clock, the tutor provides personalised guidance and feedback aligned to course content, helping learners deepen their understanding at their own pace. Participating cohorts recorded up to 10 percent improvement in examination pass rates, an encouraging outcome as we explore new ways to support learner success.

With the rise of AI reshaping the legal and regulatory landscape, NP launched the first diploma that bridges technology and law. Co-developed with the Singapore Academy of Law, Lexagle Pte. Ltd. and Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, the Diploma in Computing with Law prepares graduates to meet the increasing demand for professionals who can navigate both fields as law firms, companies and public agencies increasingly adopt digital tools.

Our School of Engineering also paved the way for students to build breadth of skills in emerging technological fields on top of their disciplinary foundations through new Cross-Disciplinary Specialisations. Besides specialisations in Space Technology and Operational Technology Cybersecurity, the AI for Engineers specialisation deepens students’ abilities to use machine learning and neural networks to address real-world engineering challenges.

Partnering Industry to Upskill the Workforce

Beyond expanding our collaborations to ensure the industry relevance of our full-time diplomas as part of NP’s Industry-in-Curriculum framework, we broke new ground in establishing partnerships that impact the workforce. Aimed at building future-ready capabilities in AI and digitalisation, the partnerships nurture talent and grow our workforce amid a changing industry landscape.

For instance, we further strengthened our partnership with global vision care leader EssilorLuxottica to bring technology-driven innovations into the Diploma in Optometry curriculum. From AI-enabled eye care solutions to digital optometric workflows, students gain exposure to emerging technologies in vision care and develop the skills to apply them confidently in real-world patient settings.

A prime example is NP’s partnership with technology services firm NCS to harness AI for realworld productivity. Anchored to real job roles, the SkillSprint Programme created structured learning opportunities for NCS’s Cloud Infrastructure team to use AI to augment their domain skills when tackling project challenges.

We also inked two Memorandums of Understanding with United Overseas Bank (UOB), a SkillsFuture “Queen Bee”. While the first covers the co-development of training in AI, digitalisation, and sustainability to help SMEs build new capabilities, the second aims to bolster productivity and operational efficiency among UOB employees through the adoption of Gen AI.

Following the launch of the Built Environment Ecosystem in 2024, NP deepened its long-standing partnership with JTC through the latter’s Industry Connect initiative. Together, we co-developed a Gen AI-focused course for facilities management professionals to leverage AI to make informed decisions and work more efficiently.

Unveiling Capability Building Initiatives in Behavioural Science and Smart Manufacturing

In October, we established the Centre for Behaviour and Nudge Design (BaND), broadening access to the knowledge and skills required to apply behavioural insights (BI). A key centrepiece at BaND is Abbi, an AI-enabled BI coach – co-developed with the UK-headquartered Behavioural Insights Team and behavioural AI specialist Nudgyt – that allows learners to test and refine nudging strategies.

By combining BI with AI-enabled coaching, BaND helps business leaders, human resource managers, and organisation development practitioners take a human-centred and evidencebased approach to drive meaningful and lasting change at the workplace.

At the World Engineering Day 2026 event held in NP, we announced our partnership with Siemens – the only SkillsFuture “Queen Bee” in advanced manufacturing – to establish a leading-edge smart manufacturing platform. By integrating digital technologies, automation and data analytics within a configurable, industry-ready set-up, the platform enables SMEs to pilot automation and robotics solutions, accelerating their Industry 4.0 transformation.

Together with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, NP also introduced a stackable Specialist Diploma in Smart Manufacturing, designed to equip engineers, manufacturing professionals and fresh graduates with applied capabilities in next-generation manufacturing technologies for industrial innovation.

Building Socially Sustainable Communities

Guided by our commitment to be a Campus for Good, we continued to champion inclusivity, strengthen social sustainability partnerships and catalyse meaningful community action – creating positive social impact alongside the communities we serve.

On campus, we laid the foundation for a collaborative social impact hub by welcoming social enterprises and businesses that champion inclusive employment. Our first partner, Soul Food Enterprise, contributes to the ecosystem by offering meaningful collaborative opportunities to NP students and staff, deepening their engagement with and understanding of persons with disabilities.

The inaugural Partnership for Good event organised by the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary Studies brought together over 70 cross-sector leaders passionate about advancing social sustainability. Spurred by the shared commitment, participants pledged their support for curriculum collaborations, industry projects, and internships that create shared value for learners, businesses, and the wider community.

In the face of an economic landscape marked by continuous disruptions and exponential technological shifts, we transformed with purpose. This is made possible by the dedication of our staff and their commitment to driving the changes that matter.

We also extend our appreciation to our parents, alumni, advisory committees, donors, industry and community partners, and colleagues from our parent Ministry for their continued support and contributions.

We are grateful to our fellow Council Members for their service, especially Deputy Chairman Mr Willie Tan, and members Ms Anna Ku and Mr Baey Theng Mong, who stepped down in 2025.
