Synopsis: 67-year-old Oliver Chen believes that learning never stops. In 2022, he received employer support and utilised SkillsFuture training subsidies to enrol in a one-year programme in Solar Photovoltaic Engineering and Monitoring at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. He successfully completed the course and obtained a specialist diploma. Currently serving as a project manager at Vector Green, Oliver holds a diploma in business administration. In 2021, he joined the department managing solar energy and realized that despite having years of managerial experience, he lacked expertise in renewable energy. Therefore, he decided to enrol in classes to learn new skills. Although attending evening classes can get exhausting, he finds it very fulfilling and meaningful. Among the 14 students in the class, he is the oldest but does not feel awkward. He hopes tosign up for more courses in the future.
