Sisters create online bakery during circuit breaker

Sisters Liu Yu Ping, 21, and Liu Yu Ting (Aye Chan), 20, started working together during the circuit breaker. Yu Ping likes to bake and Aye Chan would use her photography skills to take aesthetic shots of her sister’s pastries and cakes before uploading them online. Interest spread and people were soon asking them if they were selling these cakes. Yu Ping is studying business at NUS, while Aye Chan will be starting university this month at Yale-NUS College studying liberal arts. “We were not thinking of starting a business when we shared the photos of these goodies online. We both studied business in polytechnic, so since we had this business opportunity, we could not miss it,” said Aye Chan.
Aye Chan graduated from NP this year. Last year, she even managed her own café on campus, and went on an overseas internship with an F&B business in Myanmar. While the sisters hope to have a sustainable business, they also hope to gain more working experience.
