Additional experiential opportunities through revamped curriculum

The article features NP’s Biomedical Science diploma which has undergone a curriculum revamp that includes a track that allows final year students to embark on a one-year integrated clinical training programme with SGH focusing on clinical trials and research. Third year student K. S. Gautham dreams of studying medicine and becoming a cardiologist in the future. He hopes the curriculum changes will give him the chance to secure a job at the Singapore General Hospital. Dr Sujit Dutta, Course Chair of the diploma at NP shared that students can develop important skills by implementing technologies and learning through hands-on clinical settings. “These curriculum changes are aimed at instilling in students a deeper understanding and giving them an opportunity to tackle real-world problems. In a changing healthcare environment, students need career resilience and we want to strengthen it in the students,” Dr Dutta said.
