When The Sandbox (known as TSB in short) was launched in May 2015, many people asked us where the inspiration for our department's name came from. The most plausible guess was building sandcastles, an analogy for dreaming up ideas. In fact, we credit our naming to the IT service, aptly named The Sandbox, which was designed as a safe environment for people to develop their applications, without worrying about messing up their accounts. We, too, wanted a name to symbolize that same spirit- providing a risk-free and safe avenue for students to try out their ideas, explore and test their innovation and entrepreneurship potential.
