Title: Wheelchair-bound accident victim recovered using her willpower, wins Ngee Ann Polytechnic Outstanding Sports Award
Synopsis: 19-year-old national youth triathlete Jeremia Christy Suriadi was hit by a lorry two years ago and was wheelchair bound for six months. Unable to cope with her studies, the former Singapore Sports School student transferred to NP. Six months after her accident, Jeremia started competing again and has won more than 10 awards since. She was nominated for (and subsequently won) the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Outstanding Sports Award by NP EWT deputy course chair Guo Huiling, who said that Jeremia’s resilience and energy is commendable.
