What You Will Learn

You will acquire a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing symbols. In addition, you will acquire the skill to read and interpret the symbols in engineering drawings. Participants are encouraged to bring company drawings for discussion and understanding of measuring principles for geometric tolerances.

Phoon Kum Weng, Lecturer, School of Engineer, Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Phoon Kum Weng graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, RMIT University, with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and holds a Master of Science in Mechanics and Processing of Materials from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Phoon Kum Weng has been a full-time lecturer with the Polytechnic since 2016. He is currently serving in Mechanical Engineering Division, School of Engineering of the Polytechnic. Prior to joining the Polytechnic, he was a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in the oil and gas industry

Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass assessments.

Entry Requirements
Applicants should preferably have at least a NITEC in mechanical engineering related field, though not essential. Basic knowledge in reading engineering drawing is necessary.
