What You Will Learn

This certification is all about attainingspecialized knowledge in areas such as design, web, online content and technology with an insight into the mixed discipline of design and media. There are 3 modules that participants will complete in order to receive the certificate.

New Media Design

Addressing the growing demand for media industry, this module focuses on specialist knowledge in areas such as design, web, online content and technology. Students will explore digital media creation skills to gain creative and digital media knowledge.

Visual Design

This module gives an insight into the mixed discipline of design and media with a focus on problem-seeking and solving techniques. It explores design principles & elements, design theory, colours, typography, layout and marketing to create compelling content in support of the media industries.

Studio (covers Research, Portfolio and Branding)

This course is designed to train students to do research, develop an individual project from conception to conclusion, and then to promote it online/offline. Learners will develop a professional portfolio that best profiles their creative strength.

Entry Requirements

Applicants with any of the following qualification are invited to apply for the course:

  • A Diploma or Degree in any media disciplines
  • A Diploma or Degree in a non-media discipline


Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
