you will learn how to work electrical machines & drives and analyse,
design and assemble electronic systems and conduct waveform analysis of power converters.

Develop skills in solving DC network by using Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's Law and Thevenin Theorem. Acquire AC knowledge with applications to diodes, transistors, rectifiers, voltage regulators etc. Experience hands-on activities on basic electronics circuits, electronic control system and DC control driver.
Get hands-on to design and build application projects based on digital electronics. Define operating principles and design characteristics of devices and circuits and their applications in various practical circuits.
Be equipped with power electronics and drive knowledge for solving and troubleshooting electrical power electronics & drive problems. Learn the principles of operation and waveform analysis of power electronic converters and AC/DC speed control.
Learn the design of ladder diagrams for programming the programmable logic controller for industrial applications. Practice on sensors characterisation, build and test sensor circuits, and perform data acquisition using LabVIEW software.
Understand the elements of the electrical distribution in Singapore and the techniques used in the design. From design to maintenance, learn about the typical HV distribution system.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
