Examine the nature of children’s development, get an overview of early education models globally and in Singapore and its desired outcomes. Acquire skills to develop a safe and healthy learning environment for children.
Study factors that affect children’s social-emotional and language and literacy development. Explore multiple roles of teachers and learn the practical aspects of working with young children.
Focus on the principles of infant and toddler growth and development and contemplate a range of factors in designing the learning environment. Learn about special education and its significance.
Understand the rationale for an integrated approach to learning for young children and adopt teaching strategies that nurture children’s thinking. Be trained in planning and implementation of structured and unstructured learning experiences.
Attain knowledge and skills needed for working with diversity in families and communities and in designing a proposal for changes in the learning experiences to support children's need to explore, experiment and discover.
