Salary Support Funding:
The Skillsfuture SG (SSG) will provide Salary Support Funding to employers in the Early Childhood Care and Education industry for eligible trainees under the Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for pre-school teachers.

To apply, you must be:
• Singapore citizen or permanent resident;
• Company-sponsored;
• Employed in an ECDA-registered pre-school (excluding MOE Kindergarten) in a teaching position within 6 months prior to course application
• Meet the minimum entry requirements for the course

What You Will Learn
You are required to complete 4 post-diploma certificates within a two-year validity period to be awarded the Diploma (Conversion) qualification.
Fundamentals of Early Childhood Education

Introduce the theories of how young children develop and learn in the physical, cognitive and socio-emotional domains. Design appropriate activities for indoor and outdoor play and a suitable environment for the care and safety of children.

Diversity in Teaching and Learning

Comprehend the vast individual differences in learning among young children. Introduce designing and developing experiences to equip young children with speaking, listening and reading, writing skills and creative expressions through art, music and dance.

Design in Teaching and Learning

Identify children’s strengths and plan for support, understand the diverse family backgrounds, provide concrete math and play experiences and opportunities to explore and construct knowledge of the world around them.

Planning and Professional Practice

Learn to plan and implement learning experiences, design and deploy environmentally friendly resources, become involved in classroom teaching and be aware of the code of conduct for teachers.

Entry Requirement

Applicants with any of the following qualification are invited to apply for the course:

  • A recognised 3-year full-time polytechnic diploma or equivalent with at least a credit in GCE 'O' level English as a first language or other acceptable alternatives as outlined by ECDA

    • Employed in an ECDA-registered childcare centre or kindergarten or MOE- kindergarten; or

    • Have successfully completed the polytechnic's interview selection process
      (for self-sponsoring applicants).

  • A recognised university degree where the medium of instruction in English

    • Employed in an ECDA-registered childcare centre or kindergarten or MOE-kindergarten; or

    • Have successfully completed the polytechnic's interview selection process
      (for self-sponsoring applicants).


Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Not applicable for this course.
