Below is an overview of the different types of diplomas, short courses and workforce skills qualifications.

Online learning may be incorporated in the various courses. To facilitate your learning and access to the resources, you may need to have a notebook computer.

Specialist Diploma	Allows you to acquire specialized skills within your trained discipline.	Up to a year on a part-time basis.	2 post-diploma certificates	Diploma or degree holders
Advanced Diploma	Allows you to acquire specialized skills within your trained discipline with a broader scope of training and curriculum.	Up to 2 years on a part-time basis.	3 to 4 post-diploma certificates	Diploma or degree holders
Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ)	Trains, develops and assesses you for the key competencies that companies look for in potential employees.	Up to a year on a part-time basis.		Varies from secondary education to degree qualification depending on programme
Short Courses	Allows you to acquire specialized skills in a particular field, interest or subject, usually for personal or professional development.	Up to 6 months on a part-time basis.		Not applicable
National Silver Academy	Short courses designed for seniors aged 50 years and above to acquire basic knowledge and skills in a particular field, interest or subject.	8 to 12 hours		Not applicable
Certificate in Bridging Studies for Enrolled Nurses	The Certificate in Bridging Studies for Enrolled Nurses is a platform for enrolled nurses to further develop their careers.	135 hours		Any one of the following qualifications:- NITEC in Nursing; Higher NITEC in Paramedic and Emergency Care; Higher NITEC in Eldercare; or Certificates awarded by the SON/ MOH for the training of Enrolled Nurses At least three years of cumulative post-enrolment nursing work experience as an Enrolled Nurse in healthcare settings A satisfactory employer's testimonial in support of the application
