What You Will Learn

Co-developed with Youth Work Association Singapore, participants will get to learn theories behind youth psychology and development and be mentored by youth work practitioners to apply what they have learned in a real youth agency setting.   

At the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

  1. Understand and appreciate the broader social and cultural context of youth work in Singapore
  2. Apply effective strategies, including active listening and mentoring techniques, to connect with youths more purposefully
  3. Understand and apply basic intervention skills to guide and mentor youths in common youth issues
  4. Embark on a learning journey and fieldwork in an actual youth agency and interact with youth work practitioners and youth residents

Assessment/ Award

In-class assessments.
A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).

A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to participants who meet the 75% attendance requirement but did not pass all required assessment(s).
