you will learn how to apply marine hydrostatics, and engineering principles and
operations of offshore drilling and offshore structures.

Study branches of Naval Architecture and principles relating to shipbuilding. Gain understanding and application of marine hydrostatics and of Computer-Aided Design concepts and processes for the design development of a marine platform.
Understand marine engineering systems such as, marine propulsion and auxiliary systems. Be exposed to the latest engineering concepts and practices in offshore design.
Obtain basic knowledge of common engineering materials and gain knowledge on project management processes and production operations found in shipbuilding, ship repair and conversion.
Equip with the skills to analyze problems of rigid bodies in motion. Identify the practical aspects of stress analysis and machine systems through laboratory sessions.
Comprehend the fundamental principles of Fluid Mechanics, application of basic thermodynamic principles to engineering problems and engineering of piping system.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
