You will gain an understanding of the various stages of a child's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development and learn how to apply this knowledge to manage your students' behaviour. You will also be equipped with effective classroom management techniques to provide an orderly and conducive learning environment for your students.
You will learn about various developmental issues faced by school-going children (including special needs) and take away basic behavioural strategies to manage these students. You will also learn facilitation skills to conduct and manage group activities as well as communication skills that would enable you to engage in purposeful interactions with your students.
Learn to conceptualize and roll out an effective curriculum, programmes and activities by undertaking a systematic assessment of your students' needs. After which, acquire techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of your programmes for future improvements. You will also gain knowledge how to develop programmes that will enhance your students' social emotional learning.
You will have an overall view of how to run a student service centre, including use of technology, job redesign, legal and ethical considerations, to improve your centre's overall efficiency. You will also understand how to engage and work with community stakeholders to promote the holistic development of your students.
As a supervisor or a potential supervisor, you will acquire a range of supervisory skills to manage your staff, including ways to reward, delegate and reward your staff, that will help you to maximise your team's potential. You will also learn how to evaluate your staff's learning and training needs to manage your staff's professional development.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of prior learning is available for those with (a) At least one year of relevant working experience (b) Endorsed by the centre (c) Sits and pass a pre-enrolment written test or interview by the school.
