What You Will Learn
You are required to complete 2 post-diploma certificates within a two-year validity period to be awarded the Diploma (Conversion) qualification.
Student Management

You will gain an understanding of the various stages of a child's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development and learn how to apply this knowledge to manage your students' behaviour. You will also be equipped with effective classroom management techniques to provide an orderly and conducive learning environment for your students. You will learn about various developmental issues faced by school-going children (including special needs) and take away basic behavioral strategies to manage these students. You will also learn facilitation skills to conduct and manage group activities as well as communication skills that would enable you to engage in purposeful interactions with your students.

Programme & Centre Management

Learn to conceptualize and roll out an effective curriculum, programmes and activities by undertaking a systematic assessment of your students' needs. After which, acquire techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of your programmes for future improvements. You will also gain knowledge how to develop programmes that will enhance your students' social emotional learning. You will have an overall view of how to run a student service centre, including use of technology, job redesign, legal and ethical considerations, to improve your centre's overall efficiency. You will also understand how to engage and work with community stakeholders to promote the holistic development of your students.

Entry Requirement

Applicants with any of the following qualification are invited to apply for the course:

  • A local Polytechnic Diploma or Degree with at least 1-year relevant working experience
  • State-recognized University Degree in any discipline where the medium of instruction is English and with at least 1-year relevant working experience.


Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
