Industry Partners of 'Making The Connection – An Interdisciplinary Project (IDPRO)' Module

'Making The Connection: An Interdisciplinary Project' is a new 4-credit elective module that piloted in Oct 2019. A big 'thank you' to our esteemed industry partners! Your support will help Ngee Ann students learn better as they strive to offer solutions to real-world issues. Using a project-based learning approach, students collaborate with peers across different disciplines to explore issues in three areas: Changing Environment, Changing Society and Changing Economy.




CHANGING ENVIRONMENT

Ministry of Environment and Water Resources (MEWR)

To provide Singapore with a clean and sustainable environment and resilient supplies of safe food and water, MEWR partners works with its three statutory boards: the National Environment Agency (NEA), PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). Through innovation, vibrant partnerships and co-operation across the private, public and people (3P) sectors, MEWR also seeks to build up our nation's Climate Resilience, Economic Resilience and Resource Resilience.

A leading energy, marine and urban development group operating across multiple markets worldwide, Sembcorp Industries plays an important role in Singapore's vision to be a zero waste nation. Its Materials Recovery Facility in Tuas is the biggest in Singapore and offers integrated waste management & logistics, recycling and environmental services and even converts waste to energy.

National Council of Social Service (NCSS)

NCSS is the umbrella body for some 450 member social service agencies in Singapore and provides leadership and direction in social services to enhance the capabilities of social service agencies, and strategic partnerships for social services. It serves the seniors, children and youth with special needs, adults with disabilities, children and youth, families, persons with mental health conditions, and caregivers.

he Esplanade is one of the world's busiest arts centres, hosting about 3,000 performances annually. This not-for-profit arts centre aims to entertain, engage, educate and inspire through the arts. These social motivations have resulted in a well curated calendar of programmes to keep the arts accessible so that there is always something for everyone to enjoy.

Bizlink Centre Singapore Ltd

Serving the disabled community since 1986, this non-profit organization offers programmes to empower disabled individuals with a variety of soft skills and on-the-job training. Participants are thus able to maximize their potential and seek greater employment opportunities. Social enterprises under the Bizlink umbrella also offer a supportive environment for disadvantaged individuals and those with disabilities across several vocations.

Federation of Merchant Association of Singapore (FMAS)

Registered as an association in 1989, FMAS is a non-profit organisation formed to represent interest of merchants operating in the Housing and Development Board (HDB) neighbourhood and town centres, as well as stallholders selling in the National Environmental Agency (NEA) hawker centres and markets. It envisions to be the champion for the Heartland Business Community and to be the bridge between the government and heartland retailers and hawkers. Its mission is to unite businesses in the community, uplift productivity and competiveness and inject vibrancy into neighbourhood centres.
