FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Graduate,

Congratulations on your Graduation Day!

I share your happiness on this special occasion that marks the achievement of a major milestone in your life. I hope that your journey in NP has been enriched by many rewarding and memorable experiences. Whether it was a meaningful service-learning project, an insightful internship, an eye-opening overseas trip, or an engaging session with your mentor, these experiences have collectively shaped you to be who you want to be. At the same time, I trust that they have also developed in you a passion for learning, a big heart for others and a global-smart mindset, which will help you thrive in an increasingly volatile and unpredictable, yet exciting world.

It is no secret that the diploma and skills you have today are not going to last you a lifetime. Thus, I would like to urge you to embrace learning, and re-learning, to deepen your skills or acquire new ones. If you want to become a master in your area of expertise, you must be prepared to make it a lifelong commitment to upgrade your skills, while being cognizant of the changes in the environment. Be a nimble learner and continue to seek new opportunities.

NP will always welcome you back to reskill and upskill with us. At our CET Academy, we have ramped up our courses and programmes to ensure that we will continue to add value to your learning journey beyond your diploma. Do look out for our offerings in the near future.

Let me leave you with this inspiring quote by the late Stephen Hawking, a well-respected scientist of our time who had battled motor neurone disease since age 21:

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don't just give up.”

I wish you a fulfilling life and look forward to hearing your wonderful stories in the future.
