Schemes for Fee Payment

Note: For Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) students, the Post Secondary Education Account (PSEA) is the only available scheme.

 

CPF Education Scheme

Eligibility

  • All full time students (Singaporeans, Permanent Residents and International Students) can apply to use their own or their parents' CPF savings to pay for the tuition fees, for courses.
  • Permanent Resident and International Students must have executed the Tuition Grant deed with MOE before they are eligible to apply for this scheme.
  • International students must appoint a guarantor and provide their particulars during the application.
  • The use of a sibling’s or a relative’s CPF savings is subject to CPF Board’s approval on a case-by-case basis.

Loan Amount/Value

  • The withdrawal limit for education scheme is 40% of the balance in the ordinary account including amounts withdrawn for education and investments.
  • 100% of tuition fee.

Interest Rate

  • Prevailing CPF interest rate.

Interest Accrual

  • Interest will be charged from the time the savings are withdrawn.

Maximum Repayment Period

  • 12 years

Minimum Amount of Repayment

  • $100 per month in cash payable to CPF Board.
  • No CPF savings can be used for repayment.

Commencement of Loan Repayment

  • 1 year after graduation or 1 year after leaving the Polytechnic without completing the course.

Post Secondary Education Account (PSEA) Scheme

Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizen (SC) students or students with SC siblings, who have balances in their PSEA (formerly known as Edusave) accounts.

Loan Amount/Value

  • Up to 100% of tuition and other fees, subject to sufficient balance in the account.

  • Check available balance in your PSEA account, and/or your sibling's if you are using their PSEA account.
  • Download the form here and mail it back to Ngee Ann Polytechnic using the Forms Submission envelope enclosed in the Enrolment Package.
  • Alternatively, submit the completed form to c/o Finance Office (PSEA Form), Ngee Ann Polytechnic, 535, Clementi Road, Singapore 599489.

Tuition Fee Loan

Eligibility

  • All full time students (Singaporeans, Permanent Residents and international students) can apply for this scheme.
  • Permanent Resident and International students must have executed the Tuition Grant deed with MOE before they are eligible to apply for this scheme.

Loan Amount/Value

  • Up to a maximum amount of 75% of the tuition fee.

Interest Rate

  • The average of the prime rates of DBS, UOB & OCBC at about 4.75%.

Interest Accrual

  • Interest will be charged from 1 month after graduation or 1 month after leaving the Polytechnic without completing the course.
  • Interest will be charged from 1 month after ORD (for graduates with NS obligation).

Maximum Repayment Period

  • 10 years

Minimum Amount of Repayment

  • $100 per month by GIRO.

Commencement of Loan Repayment

  • For those graduating in 1st half of the year, by 1st June in the calendar year immediately after the year of graduation.
  • For those graduating in 2nd half of the year, by 1st December in the calendar year immediately after the year of graduation.
  • For those with NS obligation, not later than one year after completion of NS.
  • For those who leave the Polytechnic without completing the course, full repayment (with interest) is required.

How to Apply

  • Complete the form and bring it to any DBS branch, together with guarantor to sign the agreement in front of the bank officer.
  • The guarantor must:
    • be at least 21 years of age and shall not exceed 60 years of age;
    • be a Singapore Citizen (SC) for SC students; SC/Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) for SPR or Foreign Students; and
    • not be an undischarged bankrupt.

 

Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy for Malay Students

Eligibility

  • All Singaporean and Permanent Resident Malay students with Monthly Income per Household Member (MI/HM) of $2,000 or less.
  • TTFS is eligible for races of Malay descent. They include the following: Malay, Acehnese, Ambonese, Batak, Bugis, Baniarese, Boyanese, Butonese, Dusun, Dayak, Iban, Indonesia, Javanese, Kadazan, Kelabit, Minangkabau, Murut, Makasarese, Melanau, Sumatran, Sundanese, and Indonesian Extract.
  • Students with double-barrelled race, having one of the above as first component, are also eligible (eg Malay-Arab).
  • Permanent Resident students must have executed the Tuition Grant deed with MOE before they are eligible to apply for this scheme.

Subsidy Amount/Value

  • The income criteria is based on a three-tier system where students who come from households with (MI/HM) of $2,000 or less will be eligible for the following subsidies:

  • This scheme does not cover other compulsory fees (miscellaneous/other fees) charged by the polytechnic during the academic year.

    You will need the following information to fill in the form:
    • Student's personal particulars
    • Family members' personal particulars
    • Family income
  • Visit Mendaki website for other financial assistance schemes offered by Mendaki.

SkillsFuture Credit

Eligibility

  • All Singapore Citizen students aged 25 and above in 2016.

Subsidy Amount/Value

  • First $500 credit balance, effective Jan 2016. All Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above will be able to access their SkillsFuture Credit account and submit a claim via SkillsFuture Credit once they receive their account activation letter.
