For N-Level Students
The Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) is a one-year programme that caters to the top Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) students with a practice-oriented curriculum taught by polytechnic lecturers, to better prepare them for entry into the relevant Polytechnic Diploma courses.
PFP students are given provisional places in diploma programmes, subject to them passing all modules in the one-year PFP. The requirement to pass all modules ensures that students continue to work hard during their PFP year and are well prepared for polytechnic studies.
The programme will begin in April every year.
Our courses are grouped into three domain clusters in NP's Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP); namely Science, Technology and Non-Science & Technology.
NP domain clusters in Science and Technology admit students from NP courses under the PFP Group 1.
NP domain cluster in non-Science & Technology mainly admit students from NP courses under the PFP Group 2. This is with the exception of the courses under School of Design & Environment, belonging to PFP Group 1.
During the Programme, you will undertake academic modules such as English, Mathematics and domain-specific cluster modules and non-academic modules such as life skills, general education and national education. These are taught over 30 weeks.
The curriculum structure for the three domain clusters is shown in the table below.
