- Keep all combustible material (oil, chemical, paper, rags) away from the welding or cutting area.
- Welding shields (or goggles) fitted with filter lenses, gloves, safety shoes and long sleeved overalls should 
  be worn. Ensure that welding cables and connections are in good condition and firmly attached before use.
- Welding cables or gas hoses must be laid properly so as not to obstruct passageways or create a tripping hazard. - Protect cables and hoses against damage or crimping.
- Never perform arc-welding when your body or the floor is wet.
- Do not look directly into the flame or arc. The intense light is damaging to your unprotected eyes.
- Do not inhale the fumes or dust produced when welding, cutting or chipping.
- Do not use gas or oxygen to cool or clean your body.
- Put on goggle during chipping of slag
Never look for gas leaks with a match or naked flame.
Use soapy water.
Never lift or move gas cylinders 
by their valves or fittings
