Attire
1. Covered shoes must be worn at all time.
2. Longhair must be tied back.
3. Laboratory / workshop overall must be worn while in a lab or workshop.
4. No food or drinks are allowed in the laboratories and workshops.

Laboratory Conduct
1. Direct handling of chemicals with bare hands is prohibited.
2. Gloves, goggles must be worn when working with corrosive, toxic and other obnoxious chemicals
3. Pipetting by mouth is prohibited.
4. All volatile solvents acids and volatile chemicals must be handled in fume cupboards
5. Unauthorised experiments will not be allowed in laboratories.
6. All naked flames must not be left unattended.
7. Wash your hands thoroughly before you leave the laboratories.

Workshop Conduct
1. Removal of guards and safety devices, even for a brief interval of time, is not allowed.
2. The use of defective hand tools, machines and other equipment is prohibited.
3. Grinding, drilling, welding, etc, without wearing goggles and appropriate safety appliances, is not permitted.
4. Operating instructions for the machines or machine tools must be followed closely
    while operating the machines and machine tools
5. Operation of hazardous machines without supervision is not allowed.
6. The use of hazardous machines or tools at any one time by more than one operator is prohibited.
7. Electrical equipment and gas valves must be turned off at the end of the session.

Housekeeping Rules
1. Before leaving the laboratories / workshops, students are expected to dispose of all accumulated debris
    such as sawdust, shavings, metal cuttings and other waste products properly in designated locations.
2. Students are also required to return hand tools, equipments and other accessories to their respective positions.
3. Personal articles such as books files, handbags, and jackets must not be placed on lab benches
    or on machine bases.
