International students must apply for a student pass upon admission to the Polytechnic. The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) requires the student to pass a mandatory medical examination. A student's study in the Polytechnic is subject to the approval of a student's pass by ICA. The student's pass ceases to be valid once the student leaves Ngee Ann Polytechnic (e.g. due to graduation, withdrawal or dismissal) in which case the student pass must be returned to ICA. As penalties are imposed for overstaying on an invalid student's pass, students are advised to ensure the validity of their student pass at all times and to approach Academic Affairs Office if an extension is required.
All Ngee Ann Polytechnic graduates from the international community who are gainfully employed on a valid work pass (P, Q or S pass) can put in an application for Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) after working here for a period of time.
The application for SPR will be assessed under the Professional/Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers Scheme (PTS in short).
Graduates who are keen to apply for SPR, will be required to obtain an e-Appointment via https://eappointment.ica.gov.sg/ibook/index.do
You are required to submit your SPR application personally at the Permanent Resident Services Centre, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority. All application forms must be duly completed and signed with all the necessary supporting documents.
If you have any queries about the SPR application process, please feel free to call the Customer Services Officer at Tel : 63916100 or email them at ICA_Feedback@ica.gov.sg.

International students who would like to work part-time would not be required to apply for a letter of consent from NP. This is if they wish to work during term time (for less than 16 hours per week) or during vacation. You can find a variety of part-time employment opportunities at the NP Jobsfactory Portal.
