Ngee Ann Polytechnic was set up in 1963 by the Ngee Ann Kongsi as Ngee Ann College,with an enrolment of 116 students.The College was located at the Teochew Building in Tank Road. In 1982, the name of the College was changed to Ngee Ann Polytechnic to reflect its expanded role.Ngee Ann Polytechnic shifted to its present Clementi Road premises in 1968.
