    Tertiary Student ez-link Card 

What is the Tertiary Student ez-link Card?
The Tertiary Student ez-link Card allows concessionary travel on public buses, LRT and MRT for full time students. Instead of paying adult fares, you can purchase encoded concessionary travel scheme to ease the burden of your transportation expenses on the public transportation system. The card costs $11, of which you pay $8 (non-refundable) when applying for the card and the remaining $3 card deposit (refundable) when you want to use the card.
(The dates given at paragraph (A) are for full-time diploma freshmen's application of ez-link Card. Paragraphs (C) to (F) applies to all students)


(A) When do I apply and where do I collect the card?
Full-time diploma freshmen who have successfully e-enrolled in your course by 19 Mar 2008 and paid the Tertiary Student ez-link Card application fee of $8* together with your Part A or B fees as stated in your fee voucher, please collect your ez-link Card from Student Services, Block 18, Level 2 (above Canteen 2) from 15 Apr 2008** till 25 Apr 2008 , 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri.

Notes: *You must also go to any TransitLink Ticketing Office (TLTO) to activate your ez-link Card together with a $3 card deposit for its first-time use. ** You will also be notified via SMS on the exact date and place of mass card collection exercise. (Note: SMS will be sent to the first 4200 applicants only)

Full-time diploma freshmen who have e-enrolled after 19 Mar 2008 may collect their Tertiary Student ez-link Card about 4 weeks after the date of enrolment from Student Services Centre (SSC) at The Atrium from 28 Apr 2008 onwards. Freshmen are advised to collect their cards within 6 months after the date of application. The polytechnic will not entertain any claims of uncollected cards after the said period.


The last day for freshmen to apply for the ez-link Card at Ngee Ann will be 28 Apr 2008. Thereafter applications for ez-link Card will only be available at TransitLink's Card Replacement Offices (CRO). Please note that TransitLink is expected to suspend all applications of Tertiary Student ez-link Card from 31 May 2008 till 15 Jun 2008. From 16 Jun 2008 onwards, all applications for the card MUST be done at CRO. Please check your eligibility status before proceeding to CRO.

(B) Foreign Specialised Institution (FSI) Degree Programme Students
FSI students can apply for Tertiary Student ez-link Card during enrolment. As the start dates of these courses varies from each programme, FSI students are advised to check with their own school on application details and dates of collection.

(C) How does the Tertiary Student ez-link Card work as a concession card?
The Tertiary Student ez-link Card can be used as a Bus Concession Pass (BCP) $52 or a Train Concession Pass (TCP) $45 or Hybrid Concession Pass (HCP) $97 . The card has to be encoded at TLTOs with BCP or TCP or HCP to be used as a concession card. You can also top up your card at the Add Value Machine (AVM) located at Blk 68 (Study Area) in Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

The card has to be read at the entry and exit card reader on the bus. If the Card is not encoded as either a BCP or TCP or HCP, adult fares will be deducted from the Card for travel on buses and on SMRT and SLRT trains, provided that travel value has been encoded in the Card.

(D) How do I report the loss of my Tertiary Student ez-link Card?
To report the loss of a Tertiary Student ez-link Card, students are advised to call TransitLink Contact Centre at Tel: 1800 2255663 (0800 - 1800 hrs, Mon-Sun except public holidays).

The lost card will be invalidated within 48 hours of reporting.

(E) How do I get a replacement of my Tertiary Student ez-link Card? (Also applicable to new applications of ez-link Card for all students after 28 Apr 2008)
There are two options for new/replacement of lost Tertiary Student ez-link Card:

1. Immediate application can be made at the Card Replacement Offices:-

  • Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange
  • Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange
  • Hougang Bus Interchange
  • Jurong East Bus Interchange
  • Pasir Ris Bus Interchange
  • Tiong Bahru MRT Station

Note: Operating Hours: 1000 to 1800 hrs daily (Closed on Public Holidays)

2. You may also obtain a replacement card by mailing your application to TransitLink. Visit TransitLink’s website for more information.
