Yet, amidst the doom and gloom, a ray of new hope shines through, literally from the sun - the source of inspiration for powering the Earth anew. The Solar Technology Centre at Ngee Ann is set up to meet the challenges posed by the energy crisis. Its raison d’être is encapsulated in the acronym, SUN: Solar power innovation, Understand the environment & re Newable technologies. Ngee Ann Polytechnic is also a coordination committee member of the National Solar Repository of Singapore, a committee comprising the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) and the Economic Development Board of Singapore (EDB).
