Singapore started Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) services in 1999 and Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) services in 2002. Many countries have started DAB and DVB services and have announced the date to switch off their analogue FM and TV transmissions.
The Digital Audio and Video group in the School of Engineering is one of the pioneers on the DAB/DVB scene in Singapore, and has been involved for more than ten years now. The group actively collaborate with the industry and universities on projects and product development in Digital Audio Broadcasting (Digital Radio) and Digital Video Broadcasting (Digital TV) and promote Digital Radio and Digital Television activities in Singapore.
