About Us 

The Automation, Control & Instrumentation Group undertakes system integration in the areas of mechanical design, automation, robotic control and instrumentation.

The group brings together engineering staff experienced in automation development from three divisions within the School of Engineering:

  • Mechanical Engineering Division,
  • Electronic & Computer Engineering Division and
  • Electrical Engineering Division

This multi-disciplinary setup allows us to meet the challenges in the areas of system integration projects.

Vision 

To become an established centre focus on applied research, development and commercial applications of Automation and Robotic Integrated Systems.


Objectives

  • To undertake system integration projects and to provide quality training and manpower development for industry for Automation and Robotic Integrated Systems.
  • To conduct innovative applied research on projects or products involving integration of multi-disciplinary fields
  • To collaborate with industry in the commercial development and prototype building of automation & robotic systems
  • To promote automation culture to schools through a variety of outreach activities.
