SoE offers a variety of workshops, talks and activity-related programmes for schools. Conducted upon request, the programmes are subject to availability of staff and labs, and can also be customised for groups.

Capture your own ECG! A hands-on activity to know your heart better, participants get to capture their own electrocardiograph (ECG) and experience measurement of their blood pressure, blood oxygen level, body fat percentage and hearing level. The programme maybe replaced by other hands-on activity e.g. Electromyography.
Developing Android Application Participants form a 2-person group to learn how to display Google Maps in an Android Application and access the target location using a simulated receiver.
Flashing LEDs Participants get to learn how to do soldering and later build an electronic kitset to flash LEDs. They will learn how to apply some concepts learnt in daily life applications.
Flight Simulator Programme Students get to learn about basic flight theory and basic instruments used in an airplane cockpit. They will learn to fly a Cessna 172 aircraft using the Microsoft Flight Simulator with guided lessons on takeoffs, landings and receive a Flight Simulator Solo Certificate at the end of their solo flight.
Laboratory/Technology Centre Tours School groups are welcome to tour NP’s Aerospace Electronics Lab, Biomedical Engineering Centre, Digital Processing Centre, Network Systems & Security Lab and Microelectronics Lab. Approximately 20-30 minutes per centre/lab.
Magic of Science (1Hr) An action-packed show which uses magic tricks to highlight amazing scientific facts and engineering applications.
Security & Hacking Covers networking knowledge, how to choose an RF channel for home WLANs, communication with remote servers, switches and routers, and more. Includes an online competition. The programme maybe replaced by some other programmes related to network systems and security.

ME Tour & Course Familiarization (2Hr) Designed to familiarise students with NP’s Mechanical Engineering Division, this tour can be customised and will include the various Technology Centres and practical labs.
Glider Workshop Cum Competition Students will get to design and construct their own gliders using balsa wood. In the process, they will learn to appreciate concepts like aerodynamics, flight theory and more.
Plastic Injection Moulding In this technical session, students will get to understand the basic techniques of vacuum forming and plastic injection moulding.
Tech Trek Programme Students will be able to pick and undertake two to three learning activities (covering the principles of mechanics, material science, electronics, robotics and more) from the following: • May the Force be with you! • Both Feet on the Ground • Power Up with Fuel Cells • All Wired Up • I, Robot • Charpy’s Knockout Punch
