 Diploma in Aerospace Technology (N65)

Giving you that something xtra

  • A strong focus on design and manufacturing of aircraft components.

  • Alignment with the basic modules of SAR 66 aircraft maintenance licensing requirements.

  • Six-month internship with leading aerospace companies such as SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) , Rolls-Royce (UK), Xi’an XR Aero-Components Co. Ltd (China), Hamilton Sundstrand and Eurocopter

  • Progression to aerospace professions such as Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and Aerospace Technologists in support of design, production and technical services.

  • Hangar experience provided by a leading MRO company for selected candidates in fulfilling SAR66 practical requirements.

About the Diploma

The sky’s the limit with the Diploma in Aerospace Technology (AT).

AT covers all the major aerospace disciplines including aerodynamics, propulsion, aircraft structures and systems, and aircraft stability and control.  You will be well-prepared for careers in the design, development and production of aircraft systems and components, as well as careers in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) as Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.

You will be exposed to practical projects and laboratory experiments at our high-tech Aerospace Hub, which boasts an RSAF Super Skyhawk jet fighter, a subsonic wind tunnel for aircraft design testing and a turbojet engine test facility. These facilities provide valuable learning experience to enhance your knowledge and skills to meet needs of the aerospace industry.
Get real life industry work experience with an enriching six-month local or overseas internship with over 30 aerospace companies including Rolls-Royce Research Centre in Derby (UK), CAAS, SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), and Eurocopter, Hamilton Sundstrand.

You can also take up the basic flying course through our close collaboration with the Singapore Youth Flying Club and qualify for a flying career with a Private Pilot Licence (PPL).

So get ready to take-off with our AT diploma!

Career Prospects

By 2018, 10,000 new jobs requiring a range of aviation professions and skills will be created in addition to the current demand for aerospace engineers and technologists. Bright career prospects at major aerospace companies await you as a Licensed Maintenance Engineer, or Aerospace Technologist providing specialised technical support for manufacturing design, process development, aircraft maintenance and aerospace services.

You also enjoy recognition from many established aerospace organisations. For example, if you apply for the SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Programme, you will be placed on an accelerated training programme to become a qualified licensed aircraft engineer.

^  Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) modules at Ngee Ann help students become more versatile and competitive by expanding their knowledge and skills beyond their core disciplines. Areas covered include communication, entrepreneurship, lifeskills, media and the arts, and science and technology.

Diploma Plus Programme and Elective Modules

To complete the diploma, students have to take two elective modules and they can choose these from the engineering and non-engineering clusters. To qualify for a Diploma Plus Certificate, students just need to complete a total of four elective modules, with three from the same cluster. The Diploma Plus will better prepare students for university education and widen their career opportunities.
