 Grand Olympiad 08: D.A.R.T Challenge 

D.A.R.T stands for Driven-by-Air RoadsTer. Learn about electronic engineering in a fun way. Challenge your skills in assembling an air propelled motor cart to compete in aiming the D.A.R.T board centre spot. It comes with remote control.

General Rules

  • Each school may register up to a maximum of 5 teams. Each team must consist of 4 students.
  • Each team will assemble the cart during a workshop session conducted at polytechnic prior to the competition. Workshop session (usually from 2.30 - 5.00pm) to be arranged between schools and organiser.
  • Players in the team must take into consideration the factors such as cart’s weight, wheel dimension, etc. in propelling the cart to the centre spot.
  • Marks will be awarded according to the zone the cart stopped. Cart out of the mark zone, either stop short or overshoot will be awarded with 0 points.
  • Each team is allowed 3 rounds to be completed in 3 minutes.
  • The team that scores the highest points wins the round. There will be a few rounds to determine the final winners.
  • Judges' decision is final. Rules briefed during the competition is final.

Proposed Programme (subject to changes)

8.00 - 9.00 am - Arrival of students, Registration, Test & Repair
9.00 - 9.15 am - Parking of carts
9.15 - 10.45 am - Competition
10.45 - 11.10 am - Refreshment + Best Decoration DART Judging
11.10 - 11.30 am - Competition for tie groups
11.30 - 12.00 nn - Infotainment
12.00 - 1.00 pm - Result release, Photo Taking & Prize Presentation
1.00pm - End of event
