About the Diploma

If you dream of making multi-million-dollar deals in the real estate market, you will find the Diploma in Real Estate Business (REB) a real asset.

With developments such as the new downtown area at Marina Bay and the Punggol 21 waterfront housing project as well as the rejuvenation of the Central Business District, there will be a greater demand for real estate specialists.

REB – the first and only diploma course covering real estate business and management – will prepare you for careers in property valuation and management, real estate marketing, urban land use planning, property finance and investment.

You will pick up the knowledge and skills required to develop, market and manage shopping centres, office developments, integrated resorts and theme parks. You will also learn to conduct valuations and investment analysis of condominiums, offices, and retail properties!

You may also enjoy overseas training stints in the major cities of Shanghai, Hong Kong and Melbourne.

Career Prospects

With this diploma, you can find jobs in all sectors of the real estate market and building industry, as well as in finance and investment companies that deal in property assets.

You can assume the role of an executive overseeing property investment, marketing, planning and development, finance and housing loans, property valuation and much more. Alternatively, you can become a project supervisor or quantity surveyor.

Potential employers include government departments, regulatory authorities and statutory boards, banks, property development and investment companies, real estate consultancies, town councils, construction companies and chartered surveying practices.
 
With a few years’ experience under your belt, you can also apply for a House Agent’s Licence issued by the Council for Estate Agencies.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examinations (or equivalent) results.

^  Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) modules at Ngee Ann help students become more versatile and competitive by expanding their knowledge and skills beyond their core disciplines. Areas covered include communication, entrepreneurship, lifeskills, media and the arts, and science and technology.


Diploma Plus Programme

Students can opt to take additional modules from a wide range of clusters under the Diploma Plus Programme (DDP) to further enhance and/or broaden their knowledge in a variety of discipline specific areas based on their interests and learning abilities. The Diploma Plus Certificate helps students if they wish to pursue a university degree or increase their employability in discipline-specific areas.

Students can choose the DPP clusters from the range listed below. The offer of a DPP cluster is subject to the condition that the minimum class size is met and based on available vacancies.

 

Non-Engineering Clusters
*  Designed in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). The syllabus is based on the first-year engineering mathematics and science curricula of NUS.


Engineering students can also pursue Diploma Plus Certificates in Business, Innovation Management and Languages (Japanese).
