About the Diploma

Singapore may have a shortage of land, but its billion-dollar property market is buzzing with excitement. The Diploma in Real Estate Business (REB) teaches you to wheel and deal your way to a successful career in the property market.

From planning and development, to managing, valuing and marketing real estate projects, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of real estate business. You will acquire the knowledge and skill sets to create, market and manage attractive shopping centres, integrated resorts and theme parks. You will also be able to conduct valuations of condominiums, offices and retail properties.

With REB, you will be well-equipped to help estate owners, investors and tenants to maximise their land use and achieve the highest financial returns!

Career Prospects

You can find jobs in all sectors of the real estate market and building industry, as well as sectors that deal in property assets. Assume the role of executives overseeing investment, marketing, planning and development; officers overseeing finance and loans, valuation, research, contracts and property; and project supervisors and quantity surveyors.

You can also provide valuation analysis for residences, offices and retail properties for banks, owners and purchasers or to help owners to unlock the value of their property. Once you have gained some experience, you can apply for the House Agent’s Licence issued by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.

Potential employers include government departments, regulatory authorities and statutory boards, banks, property development and investment companies, real estate consultancy firms, management corporations and town councils, construction companies and chartered surveying practices. 

Further Studies 

You may enjoy up to one year’s module exemption when you pursue National University of Singapore’s degree courses in real estate or project & facilities management.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examinations (or equivalent) results and fulfil the aggregate computation requirements.

Subject
‘O’ Level Grade

Mathematics (Elementary/Additional) 1-6
Science (with Physics, Chemistry or Biology component)
or Design & Technology
or Computer Studies
or Fundamentals of Electronics

The aggregate computation for selection is based on grades obtained for English, Mathematics, Science or Design & Technology or Food & Nutrition (Grade 1-9) or a relevant OSIE / Applied Subject and two other subjects.

* Candidates with English as a second language must have attained a minimum grade of 6.

Engineering students can also pursue Diploma Plus Certificates in Business, Innovation Management and Languages (Japanese).
