Giving you that something xtra

  • Wide range of professional training in voice, video and data networking, cloud computing, network, server and computer security

  • Six-month internships with national research institutes such a A*STAR and DSO or industry heavyweights such as IBM and Fujitsu Asia

  • Learn from industry experts and work on real-life projects

  • Professional certifications from international organisations such as Linux Professional Institute and Cisco Systems (USA)

About the Diploma

Love shopping online? Did you know that means you – and the rest of the Internet-surfing world – are at risk from virtual crimes like online vandalism and personal data theft?

Help make the World Wide Web a safer place with the Diploma in Network Systems & Security (NSS). This course will teach you all about implementing wired and wireless network solutions and secure networking devices.

You will also learn to prevent and detect computer and network crimes, explore the latest developments in servers, cloud computing and more. NSS also offers remote access to training equipment so that you can practise your skills anytime, anywhere.

You will then be able to perfect your skills in the real world through a six-month internship with either national research institues such as A*STAR and DSO National Laboratories or industry heavyweights such as IBM, Reliance Globalcom, Robert Bosch and Fujitsu Asia.

In your final year, you can pursue either the Network & Cloud Architecture or Data Security & Forensics specialisation. With the Network & Cloud Architecture specialisation, you will enhance your skills and knowledge in the areas of network infrastructure and cloud technology. If you opt for the Data Security & Forensics specialisation, you will learn more about the vulnerabilities of networks and servers as well as how to protect these devices.

What’s more, NSS will equip you with the expertise you need to obtain world-recognised certifications such as CCNP, CCNA Security, IPv6 Forum Certified Network Engineer and EC-Council Certifications. These certifications will enhance your market value.

Career Prospects

With this diploma, you can take up a wide spectrum of jobs in the networking industry, ranging from network systems design and implementation, to wired and wireless networked solutions, and systems administration and support.

You can pursue a career as a Network Engineer or Architect, Network or Systems Administrator or Network Security Specialist. You can evenwork in the Infocomm or IT sectors, in the areas of data centres, network architecture and security.

World recognised certifications such as CCNA, CCNA Security, CCNA Voice, CCNP, ITIL v3, IPv6 Forum Certified Network Engineer, Linux and EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker will give you an added advantage in getting these jobs.
