About the Diploma
If you plan to pursue a university degree via the poly route, here comes an exciting offer that is specially designed for you: the Diploma in Engineering Science (ES).
Through a curriculum that was designed in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) , this premier diploma is dedicated to preparing students, with a strong passion for applied science, to become leaders in the field of engineering.
During your first two years, you will be equipped with a strong foundation in engineering and related domains such as computing, mathematics, applied science and research.
An Engineering Induction Programme will give you further exposure to various fields through industry visits, guest lectures, overseas study visits and short stints with research establishments.
In your final year, you will spend at least two days a week in NTU where you will take on projects supervised by NTU professors in areas such as aerospace, nanotechnology and integrated circuit design.
All ES students will also be invited to visit top universities in Japan and China - an initiative that is in addition to the overseas trips offered to all Ngee Ann students. There, they will interact with postgraduate students and professors, and be exposed to the latest developments in technology and innovation!
What's more, one in four ES students may be offered a prestigious scholarship (worth more than S$20,000) that covers tuition fees and notebook allowances, and scholars will be placed on a special talent development track!
Career Prospects
Your first option would be to pursue an engineering degree at NTU or other universities.
If you choose to work first, there are good career prospects in research & development, product design & development, manufacturing & services, and more!
Further Studies
As an ES student, you will be well prepared to pursue further studies at NTU. You may enrol into their wide range of engineering degrees in the fields of computer engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, material science, mechanical engineering, and aerospace engineering.
