The first of its kind in Singapore, BME is jointly delivered by Ngee Ann Poly’s School of Engineering and School of Life Sciences & Chemical Technology. Here you will learn about developing groundbreaking medical equipment and procedures. You will also learn to research technologies that could lead to new cures and improved healthcare standards! Couple that with a six-month internship with a university, hospital, MNC or research institute and you’ll be all set to go. Minor in Business Management Delivered by Ngee Ann’s School of Business & Accountancy – the most established polytechnic business school – these business modules will equip you with what you need to be an entrepreneur, manager or marketing guru. The biomedical engineering sector is indeed booming – after all, medical technology companies account for more than 60% of the total number of jobs in the biomedical sciences cluster! Jobs also abound in healthcare establishments such as hospitals and medical centres as well as medical equipment suppliers and service providers. You will be able to work as a Biomedical Technical Officer in a hospital or as a Sales or Service Engineer with a company that supplies medical equipment.
