About the Diploma

Jointly delivered by the Schools of Engineering and Life Sciences & Chemical Technology, this diploma will help you advance your career or further studies in the field of biomedical engineering.
With your skills, you will be able to improve the quality of life of people in need by developing groundbreaking medical equipment and procedures. You will also learn to research technologies that could lead to new cures and improved healthcare standards.
Couple that with a six-month internship at a university, hospital, MNC or research institute (such as NUH, GE Healthcare, Tyco Healthcare and A*STAR I2R) and you’ll be all set to go.
Minor in Business Management
Delivered by Ngee Ann’s School of Business & Accountancy – the most established polytechnic business school – these business modules will equip you with what you need to be an entrepreneur, manager or marketing guru. Paired with your strong foundation in engineering, this optional minor will ensure that you enjoy a far wider range of exciting career and degree opportunities!
Career Prospects
You will be ready to join Singapore’s fastgrowing biomedical engineering sector, which accounts for more than half of all personnel employed in the biomedical services industry.
Jobs abound in healthcare establishments such as hospitals and medical centres as well as medical equipment suppliers and service providers.
As you will be skilled in the research, design, development and maintenance of specialised medical devices, you will also be able to start work as a Biomedical Technical Officer in a hospital. In companies that supply medical equipment, you can start work as either a Sales or Service Engineer.

• National University of Singapore - Bachelor of Engineering in Bioengineering, Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering - Bachelor of Science in Computing, Computational Biology, Life Sciences or Physics
