About the Diploma       

Would you like to certify an Airbus or Boeing 777 for flight? Do you see yourself taking charge of maintaining a modern fleet like the Airbus A380 or F15 Eagle? If you do, sign up for the Diploma in Aerospace Technology (AT)!

AT covers all the different aspects of aerospace engineering including aerodynamics, propulsion, aircraft structures and systems, and aircraft stability and control. Learn all about aircraft design, airframe structure, engine systems, and the production of aircraft systems and components. You will also be prepared for modules in SAR 66 examinations so that you can get your licence as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer much sooner.

Perfect your skills and knowledge in our state-of-the-art facilities, such as the subsonic wind tunnel and RSAF Super Skyhawk jet fighter. You will also receive practice-oriented training through our six-month local or overseas internship programme with over 30 leading aerospace companies including Rolls-Royce Research Centre in Derby (UK), CAAS, SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), Eurocopter and Hamilton Sundstrand.

Have a passion for flying? Then pursue a basic flying course through our close collaboration with the Singapore Youth Flying Club and qualify for a flying career with a Private Pilot Licence (PPL).

To give you an added edge, you can opt for our new Business Management Minor. Delivered by Ngee Ann’s School of Business & Accountancy - the most established polytechnic business school - the business modules will equip you with knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, management and marketing. Bright career prospects at over 100 aerospace companies await you as a Licensed Maintenance Engineer or Aerospace Technologist.

Your diploma also enjoys recognition from many established aerospace organisations. For example, if you are interested in a career in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), you will be placed on an accelerated training programme to become a licensed aircraft engineer.

Entry Requirements   

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examination (or equivalent) results and fulfil the aggregate computation requirements.

The aggregate computation for selection is based on grades obtained for English, Mathematics, Science or Design & Technology or Food & Nutrition (Grade 1-9) or a relevant OSIE / Applied Subject and two other subjects.

** Candidates with English as a second language must have attained a minimum grade of 6.

Candidates with hearing deficiency or severe vision deficiency including colour appreciation deficiency should not apply for the course.

Diploma Plus Programme

Students can opt to take additional modules from a wide range of clusters under the Diploma Plus Programme (DDP) to further enhance and/or broaden their knowledge in a variety of discipline specific areas based on their interests and learning abilities. The Diploma Plus Certificate helps students if they wish to pursue a university degree or increase their employability in discipline-specific areas.

Students can choose the DPP clusters from the range listed below. The offer of a DPP cluster is subject to the condition that the minimum class size is met and based on available vacancies.

 

Engineering ClustersNon-Engineering Clusters
*  Designed in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). The syllabus is based on the first-year engineering mathematics and science curricula of NUS.
^  DPP cluster will not be offered to students taking the Minor in Business Management


Engineering students can also pursue Diploma Plus Certificates in Business, Innovation Management and Languages (Japanese).
