What is e-Learning, and why do I need it?

E-Learning is about providing learning resources (e.g. reading materials) and facilitating learning activities (e.g. online discussions) for students via the Internet.

E-Learning is important because it enables you to learn at your own pace and develop the IT savvy skills & knowledge which will serve you well in your future career & your learning journey beyond Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

What is Mobile e-Learning? 

At Ngee Ann Polytechnic, e-Learning is truly mobile.

A wireless campus and your very own notebook computer will give you the 'anytime, anywhere' flexibility to work on assignments, search the internet for information, access your module websites, participate in online activities, communicate with your tutors, interact and collaborate with your classmates & project members, create digital content, and much much more....

If you have home broadband, this 'anytime, anywhere' flexibility extends to your home too!

And if you have mobile broadband, this flexibility extends to wherever you are in Singapore.

What is this 'MeL Portal'?

This is Ngee Ann Polytechnic's campus-wide, Internet-based Learning Portal. It provides you with a single access point to all e-Learning activities and resources.

That is, you do not need to log into different websites to access online resources and activities for different modules.

Since Ngee Ann's e-Learning is truly mobile, we have named our campus-wide Learning Portal "MeL" which stands for M obile e - Learning.  

How do I access (log-in) to the MeL Portal?

You will need your NPNet user name and password to log in into the MeL system.

E.g. if your NP email account is "s1234567@connect.np.edu.sg", then your user name is "s1234567".

Please take note that the password is case-sensitive. For example, "password" is NOT the same as "PASSWORD".
