The School of Life Science and Chemical Technology, Ngee Ann Polytechnic will be organiziing a Landscape Model Competition.
The finals for the competition will be held on 16th & 17th of July 2009.
What is Landscape Model Competition?
Previously, we had successfully organized several flower festivals such as the Sunflower, Celosia, Zinnia and Marigold festivals. Last year, the successfully organized Desktop Garden Competition introduced students to the creation and maintenance of a desktop garden.
This year, the Landscape Model Competition aims to introduce students in creating a landscape garden through model making. In this competition, the students will develop skills and learn about plant selection and landscape designing.
Who can participate and what is the programme?
The Landscape Model Competition is open to all secondary pupils.
Timeline
The two-hour demonstration workshop on model making by a professional model maker will be held on 4th & 5th June in Ngee Ann Polytechnic HLM Studio 83-08-0004.
Students will learn the basic elements of model making. Basic materials for making the landscape model will be provided at the workshop. (Additional materials can be purchased from the model maker or art supplies shops.)
Information on the workshop will be available online.
May - July 2009 : Students design and develop their landscape model. If your students need guidance during this period, please do not hesitate to contact us.
16th July between 12:00-2:00pm : Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre 68-B1-000E
Submission of landscape models for judging.
17th July at 1:30pm : Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre 68-B1-000E
Competition finals with landscape models on display. The competition will be open to the public so do encourage your friends and students to attend.
There will also be talks on horticulture and model making by one of Singapore's leading speacialists.

First Prize S$300 Second Prize S$200 Third Prize S$100 Five Consolation prizes S$50 (each)
GARDENTECH 2009
The top three winning entries will be exhibited at the prestigious GARDENTECH 2009.
