Search Tips
Here are some tips when you are using the search engines to locate information:
Rule 1: READ THE HELP
Always read the Help or the Search Tips of the Search Engine you like to use. A little time spent here will be able to help you search like a professional!
Rule 2: BE SPECIFIC
Use keywords that are as specific as you can so that you will not get too many irrelevant results. E.g. Wireless LAN instead of LAN.
Rule 3: REMEMBER ALTERNATIVE TERMS & SPELLINGS
Words to mean the same thing. So, remember to use synonyms and alternative terms in your keywords for searching to encompass all possible variations of terminologies. Remember that there are British sites and American sites, hence if the keyword has a different spelling for the UK and US, make use of the wildcard to find both.
Rule 4: HOP TO ANOTHER TO GET MORE!

Every search engine has it's specialty field. If you are not getting relevant results from one search engine, always try another one.

Search Syntax

Search engines use Boolean operators such as AND, OR, NOT, on the web, symbols are used to denote these instead. To increase precision, include these symbols with your keywords for searching.
