 Lien Ying Chow Gallery 

Showcases life stories of Dr. Lien . Success stories of Asian entrepreneurs


The Lien Ying Chow Gallery located on level 3 of the Academic Library was set up in Jan 2007 to commemorate Dr Lien Ying Chow’s personality, his tremendous contributions and continual support to Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Background
Dr Lien, an eminent business leader, diplomat and philanthropist was one of the key founders of NP. He had also been supporting needy NP students through bursary awards disbursed by the Lien Foundation since 1988.

Objectives
The Gallery is targeted at students with the following objectives:
  • To create an awareness of NP’s key founder Dr Lien Ying Chow
  • To inspire students to emulate Dr Lien’s admirable qualities of perseverance, tenacity, philanthropy and humility, fire their spirit of entrepreneurship, and inspire students to achieve their own greatness and give back to society
  • To provide a learning experience, stimulate students’ interests, creativity and innovation
 

 

Resources
Covering an area of 67 sq m, the Gallery comprises story panels of Dr Lien’s early days in Singapore, his contributions to education, his involvement in community service and success in business. There is also a collection of books and multimedia resources on business successes of Asian entrepreneurs, pioneers of Singapore, philanthropy and Chinese diaspora.
