20 Sep 2004 : Loan Period for Feature Films Extended
With immediate effect, we are pleased to inform all staff that the loan period for our Feature Film Collection has been extended from 3 days to 5 days (with 2 renewals). The overdue fines remains unchanged at 10 cents per day per item.

28 Jun 2004 : Re-opening of the Academic Library
We are pleased to inform that the Academic Library will be partially opened with effect from 28 Jun 04. Renovation work will be fully completed only by August. Kindly note the following changes:
Lending Collection
The academic Lending Collection has been relocated as follows:

Media Services
The Audio Visual (AV) Collection is available on open access. Loans
may be made via the Self Service Terminal located within the Media Section.
For all other media materials, please request at the Circulation Counter
on Level 2. Enquiries for media resources may be made at the Reference/Information
Counter.
Closure of Application Lab
In line with the support for the mobile computing initiative, the Application
Lab which previously provides PCs for students’ use is now closed.
Students are advised to access all library network applications via
their laptops. 4 PCs in the new eResource Room on Level 3 are available
for access to the Library’s CD-ROM resources.
Cashless Payment
For operational efficiency, the Library will now support ONLY cashless
payment via CashCards or NETS on the Library’s self-service ePay
terminals located on the entrance floor. Sale of CashCards is available
at the Bulk Photocopying Room located outside the Library. CashCard
top-up may be made via the vending machine in the Library (outside VideoZone)
or via the POSB ATM terminal at the Atrium.
New Facilities for Laptop Users
Discussion Rooms
Student Discussion Rooms have been added on Level 3. These Rooms are
equipped with power outlets for laptop users. More Rooms will be available
on Levels 4 and 5 after the renovation.
Power Outlets for Study Carrels
All study carrels in the library will be equipped with power outlets
after the renovation.

1 Feb 2004 : Change in Semester Loan Policy
With effect from 1 Feb 2004, the semester loan policy for books from the Academic Library has been revised as follows:

| No. of renewals allowed | 2 |
All titles are subject to recall and the loan period will be automatically reduced to 2 weeks.
The loan period for all loans charged out before 1 Feb 2004 will remain unchanged.

5 Jan 2004 : Cashcard-Operated Photocopiers
NETS cashcard operated photocopiers are now
available in the Academic Library at the following locations:
3rd storey (Media Centre) :
by the Recommended Books Collection & Photocopying Room
4th storey :
Photocopying Room
5th storey :
Photocopying Room
A Cashcard top-up machine is available in the Lifestyle Library near
the Video Zone.
Charges remain unchanged ($0.03 / page for A4 printing).
