E-Books
E-Books are basically books that can be displayed on electronic viewing systems. Some require you to install a special e-book reader, some can be read through Adobe's PDF or HTML pages. Most e-books are only available upon purchase, however there are still some that are freely available. You man want to find some of these from the Library Homepage under: 
[Databases -- Databases by Type -- E-Books]


However there are two very useful sources that we would like to highlight: 
Ebrary from LearningNetwork   |   Netlibrary Collection from National Library Board (NLB)

 from Learning Network
ebrary from the LearningNetwork (USA) provides a rich collection of authoritative copyrighted content that includes books, journals, magazines, maps, and other publications. 
You can browse, view and search documents freely. However, copying or printing the information you need requires a subscription and is chargeable. Follow the steps below to access eBrary from LearningNetwork:
1) Enter Ebrary from LearningNetwork.
2) To read the full-text images from Ebrary, you need to Get ebrary Reader from the main page.
3) To search, you can specify in the search section on the left frame the following:
a) Select a Category from the drop-down box.


b) Type in a word, words, or phrase in the search box for   
        searching.


c) Select from the radio buttons to search the word(s) as a phrase, or to match all words, or any words.



d) You can also choose to search within in the document's full-text, author's name, publisher's name, title or as a subject by ticking off the appropriate checkboxes.




e) Click on Search.
4) Click on  to read full-text. Remember that copying or printing the information you need requires a subscription and is chargeable.

from eLibraryHub
Access more than 5,000 titles of full-text eBooks provided by the National Library Board. You may freely browse these titles, or check them out for 21-days to read online on your personalised e-Bookshelf. However, before you can access this collection, you need to sign up as a eLibraryHub member. Follow the steps below to sign-up.
1) Enter the eLibraryHub at http://www.elibraryhub.com, and click on "Join eLibraryHub" Join eLibraryHub icon on the main page and Register.
2) After registration and logging in, click on the "InfoMall" InfoMall icon at the top of the page.
3) Click on the link, and click on the NetLibrary icon. If you do not see the icon, you have probably not logged in. Click on the Login link at the top right-hand corner of the page.
4) You will be brought to the NetLibrary page. You need to create an account and login again if you are a new user of NetLibrary. (Please note that you need to create an account through elibraryhub in order to access NLB's Netlibrary collection, not through any other accounts you have previously created in Netlibrary)
5) If you have logged in correctly, you will see this at the banner of the page:
                             
6) You will then see the search screen below. You can search for eBooks by Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Fulltext, Publisher, Publication Year or ISBN. 
After typing in the keywords, click on search button.

7) You can then freely browse e-Book titles, or check them out for 21-days to read online on your personalised e-Bookshelf.
