ChemGuide: This is a search engine for Chemistry, from FIZ Chemie Berlin. The site provides full text searching over thousands of web pages on hundreds of chemistry related servers of Canada, Germany, the UK and the US.

Chemindex: The CHEMINDEX database is a convenient guide to information resources on over 130,000 chemicals. Each CHEMINDEX record contains identification information on a unique chemical substance, including chemical names and synonyms, the CAS registry number.

CHID (Combined Health Information Database) Online: Searchable bibliographic records on topics ranging from the AIDS education, Alzheimer's Disease, to Cancer Prevention and Weight Control.

The Combined Chemical Dictionary Gateway: The CCD database, from Chapman & Hall/CRC Press combines 6 chemical dictionaries, including the Dictionary of Organic Compounds, into one searchable database, providing a complete reference to over 420,000 compounds spanning the breadth of chemistry. EBSCOhost: Academic Search Premier searches more than 3,500 full text publications covering a broad range of general reference subjects including arts, business, humanities, social sciences, and the sciences. Encyclopedia of Bioethics: Contains the full revised text of the five-volume Encyclopedia of bioethics, a collection of 464 articles by 437 academic and professional contributors worldwide and includes also the National Library of Medicine's Bioethicsline, and a bibliography of virtually every bioethics related article published since 1974. Entrez: National Center of Biotechnology Information (NCBI). A Life Science Search Engine that searches across various databases by NCBI such as PubMed Central. Nucleotides database, axonomy database, Gene database etc.

FishBase: Froese, R. and D. Pauly. An information system with key data on the biology of all fishes. Search by Common Name, Scientific Name or for Information by Family, by Country, by Ecosystem, by Topic or Biodiversity Maps. You may even identify the fish species by navigating taxonomically.

Food Science Alerts: The sample databases give access to a three month portion of abstracts published between January and March 1998 from 1800 international journals as well as: conference proceedings, theses, books, patents, standards, legislation, reports, and other literature. Each FSA also includes topics of relevance to food science in general, including: biotechnology, hygiene & toxicology, engineering, packaging, and food economics.

HireWire Press: Stanford University. Provides free access to full text life sciences articles. Ingenta Journals: An e-journal service which provides access to the article content of the journals produced by a selective range of publishers.

Intute: University of Manchester. Provides a search engine to search relevant websites on Arts & Humanities, Life Sciences, Health Sciences and Social Sciences.

Mineral Spectroscopy Server: California Institute of Technology. This server provides information about mineralogy and is primarily dedicated to providing information about color in minerals and access to data on Mineral Absorption Spectra in the visible and infrared regions of the spectrum.

New Medicines in Development: A database of drugs in development; they can be searched by medicine, disease, indication or company.

NIST Chemistry WebBook: A database of thermodynamic data for over 5000 compounds and ion-energetics data for over 10000 compounds.

OMIM -- Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man Articles Search: NCBI, the National Center for Biotechnology Information. This database is a catalog of human genes and genetic disorders, contains textual information, pictures, and reference information.

OvidSP Journals (Nursing & Medical): Includes full text articles on nursing, health and life sciences from 1950 onwards. [Intranet]

PubMed: National Library of Medicine (NLM). Provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.

Scirus: A comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet that searches over 167 million Web pages, retrieving the latest reports, peer-reviewed articles and journals covering scientific, scholarly, technical and medical data.

SIRI MSDS Index: Vermont Safety Information Resources, Inc. Check for an MSDS direct from the manufacturer or search whole or partial words or numbers in the company, product name, or the CAS or NSN. You may also search Toxicology Reports.

SurfIP: The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. A vertical portal where the world's protected ideas can be accessed easily and rapidly. Databases include the European Patent Office (EPO), UK Patent Office, and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) websites. Quick Guide
