In collaboration with the South West Community Development Council (SWCDC), nine students from the Innovation & Enterprise in Action module (Environment Pathway) represented Ngee Ann Polytechnic in a recycling project . Proceeds of the sale of recyclable materials went to needy residents in the South West District.
The collection of recycled materials on NP campus was conducted on 2nd Dec 2009.The students were responsible for publicising the event NP-wide, and organising the collection of the selected recyclable materials.

Together with the other parties involved, the students were recognised for their contributions by the Mayor of South West District and Senior Parlimentary Secretary for Environmental and Water Resources, and Member of Parliament for Hong Kah GRC, Dr Amy Khor, at a media event on 17 January 2010.
