WISP STUDENTS REFLECT ON SAF CAMP VISITS IN 2009

Experiential learning can be a very powerful way to learn!

As part of this approach to take learning out of the classroom, the WISP team works with MINDEF (Ministry of Defence) every year, bringing WISP students to visit SAF camps.

These camp visits expose students to ideas in WISP that are relevant to the theme “War and Conflict.”

Want to find out more about how some students feel? Read on below!

"Ultimately, we can never tell which youth will lay down his life for his country until we go through a baptism of fire, and that will be the time when the men are separated from the boys.

As for now, every boy goes through military training to give him a basic level of preparedness for such times."

"I still cannot believe that the government would allow a foreigner like me to visit a secret place like SISPEC…I was amazed that the technology of weapons and communications are so advanced!

I was thrilled to fire shots on the SAR21, SAW and pen gun. This is my first time firing a real rifle!"

"I rate this field trip one of the best in my school days.

I know I might never get another opportunity to experience military life because I am a female, so I decided to participate wholeheartedly in every activity!

This first-hand experience inspires me to join the world-class SAF!"
