The world is changing rapidly, at breakneck-speed. This means that you must be nimble and adaptable in the global environment. To do this, IS provides you with a strong understanding of current social and global issues.
With this unique mindset, you can compete effectively in the 21st century workplace. More importantly, you grow to become an active citizen – locally and globally.
CURRICULUM
IS modules are designed to be meaningful, engaging and inspiring. This is achieved y making it easy for you to explore global, social and community issues. These are some modules you may be taking at NP:
Year 1 -Communication & Contemporary Issues, Cultural Intelligence at Work, Idea Jumpstart Year 2- Idea Blueprint & Idea Launchpad Year 3- World Issues-A Singapore Perspective
COLLABORATION
Strategic partnerships with external organisations create valuable learning experiences for you. Some memorable examples are the SAF Camp Visits, Heroes Seminars,and Ministerial dialogue sessions.
CCAs (like the Leo Club, Red Cross and Cultural Clubs) and NP’s Talent Management Programmes help to raise social and global awareness through current affairs workshops, Pre-University Seminars & Poly Forum events and community services. COMMUNITY
Take advantage of opportunities to connect with local and overseas communities. Through meaningful projects with a community, you gain a better understanding of social and cultural issues.
Moreover, IS emphasises a hands-on approach in such projects so that you will glean valuable insights on critical issues that impact Singapore, our neighbours and the world.
