RESEARCH TRIP TO VIETNAM BY RESMET STUDENTS

IS students from the RESMET Practical Research Methods module put their research skills to the test, not in their own backyard, but in Vietnam. Students left for Hanoi to find out more about the circumstances which Vietnamese foreign brides leave behind.

They conducted street interviews and spoke with social workers, academics and the poor, leaving no stone unturned during the investigation.

To facilitate this vacation module, IS collaborated with NGOs including the Centre for Promoting Alternatives to Violence, The Asia Foundation, ActionAid and Oxfam Quebec along with the Hanoi University for the Social Sciences and the Humanities.

This overseas experience in Vietnam was certainly a milestone  for the students, who gained an invaluable experience in practical research methods and new insights into Vietnam and its social problems.
